Southern Ontario spring Steelhead

Many anglers are taking advantage of the recent mild weather, ice melt and with open-water tributaries, fresh-run steelhead.

Sam Nicholson recently fished on of the Lake Ontario tributaries and use a combination of a chartreuse bead followed by a fly. The water had about 2′ visibility and the bite started as insects appeared on the surface. His top producing fly was a stonefly imitation.
