Slab ice-jumbos.
Posted on January 20th, 2021Ice fishing has been slow arriving in southern Ontario but that hasn’t stopped John Walkington and Kelsey MacDonald from driving a little north and taking advantage of excellent ice-perch.
When perch reach lengths over 13″ they are definitely “jumbos”! Kelsey is all smiles as she landed her personal best Yellow Perch. Live minnows, small spoons and 1/8 oz jigheads with 1-2 1/2″ plastic grubs also work well to entice the larger perch to strike.
Perch are plentiful in many lakes and they feed well during the winter months which make them the top “panfish” to catch & enjoy!
