Shadow Lake Report – Bluegill
Posted on October 4th, 2010
My Dad and I managed to get out once again up to Shadow Lake. It was a cool, damp moring for sure and we wondered how this would play out with the fishing. Using my Humminbird 141C I could see hundreds of fish hovering around one drop-opp where the river narrows, 1/2 way between the governmnet dock and mouth of the main lake. As well, just a very short distance out from the mouth of Shadow Lake where it meets the river, we could see again hundreds of fish in various sizes below. Despite our best efforts at these two locations, we just could not intice a hit.
Moving out to our known spot off an island, on a 30 foot drop off, we found ourselves once again with awesome luck for bluegill. We used light tackle, wiht a very small jig head tipped with a small plastic grub.
