Shadow Lake – Fishing Report
Posted on October 13th, 2010
Hope you had a great long weekend.
I worked on my boat on Thursday night, took apart the transom, resealed it all with high quality silicone, put two beads around the entire outside edge of the outside board and one on the inside board, loaded up the silicone on all the bolts and she doesn’t leak a drop now. Friday I started working on the trailer, I took off the tilt and load mechanism and extended the trailer by 8 inches, put two 1/2 inch bolt / lock washers on and made it a solid unit. That made all the difference in the world, so much better to trailer now, much more solid. Then, put another coat of black pain on the trailer and put new submersible lights and re-wired the trailer.

My Dad and I made it up to Shadow Lake again early Saturday morning. We fished our known hole for bluegill, a pool / opening in the river and the mouth where the river meets the lake. Again, I could see hundreds of fish on the Humminbird however I suspect it was the high pressure system which brought the clear, sunny skies, which more of less shut the fishing success down. My Dad was able to land a nice little smallie on a small jighead and plastic grub.

I’m off again today the boat is hooked up. I’m going to try the river to see if the crappie are running up Big Creek yet.
