Saugeen River, ON Fishing Update.

wayne_sheridan_graphicWayne Sheridan reports: With warm day time temperatures and night temperatures not low enough to adequately freeze the ice on the lakes, it is still dangerous to venture out safely on the lakes. There have been a few incidents of people going through the ice already. Please be cautious. We all wish you a Merry Christmas from all the members and sponsors at Canadian Angling. We hope Santa brings you your favorite fishing gear.

 

River Flow Rates: high/moderate and dropping. The river is freezing over.

 

Saugeen River (Durham)  dropping at 2.10M, Saugeen River (Walkerton) dropping at 9.6M,  Saugeen at Port Elgin rising at 8.02M, Sauble River (Sauble Falls) dropping at 1.18M, Sydenham River (Owen Sound) at 5.058M, Maitland River (above Wingham) down at 10.654M, French River at Woseley Bay at 187.664M, Bronte Creek near Zimmerman dropping at 5.891M, Credit River at Streetsville steady at 4.614M, Credit River at Orangeville down at 10.3M, Grand River (Doon), down at 4.045M (below Shand dam) at 1.563M, Rideau River at Ottawa up at 3.55M, Ottawa River at Britannia at 58.565M

 

Prime Fishing Times: Saturday December 25th, 2010: 2:22am to 5:08am (moon overhead), 2:51pm to 5:33pm (moon underneath).

 

Flyfishing: Egg patterns, bloodworms and minnows for larger trout
