Posted on October 26th, 2012

Wayne Sheridan reports: Fishing at river mouths for steelhead has really heated up the past 2 weeks. My friends Andy and Mario went fishing at Denny’s Dam last weekend and water levels were perfect. They caught and released some real nice large steelhead. They will be playing there again Saturday morning. I went fishing near the end of September and caught and released this nice big male brown trout in the Saugeen River.

Flyfishing: Iso, various caddis, trico, white dun, red blood worm, crayfish and minnow. For steelhead: very small roe bag with only 3-4 eggs for steelhead in the river mouths.

Great Lakes Fishing: Steelhead are now at the river mouths and in the rivers. Best bet is Lyman lures, monkey puke and herring colours. Use larger lures to imitate the baitfish. Use Lucky Strike lures.
