Saugeen River, ON fishing report.

Posted on May 5th, 2010

wayne_sheridan_graphicWayne Sheridan reports: Opening weekend of trout fishing was a challenge to many fishermen. River levels were low and clear, and the fish were very spooky. We went out to Wilmer Ponds, just north of Durham to get a little practice. It didn’t take long for us to catch these beautiful 2 rainbow trout. It was a lot of fun. Fishing on Saturday was interesting. We watched 2 rainbows spawning in the river in Hanover. It was very interesting watching them dig their redd to place their eggs in it. We didn’t get very much rains on the weekend, so river levels are still low and clear. Look to fish deep pools and be patient.
