Saltwater snapper tactics.
Posted on January 12th, 2016If you have a chance to fish some warm saltwater this winter like in Florida, the Bahamas, or the Caribbean, one of the tastiest fish you can target and catch is the snapper family.
Snapper are schooling fish that can easily be turned-on to feed by using a “chum-bag” which slow-releases the chum creating a “chum-line” and drawing smaller fish and baitfish off the bottom and sooner or later, feeding snapper. For bait, you can use a sliding-sinker rig or simply free-line a piece of squid, a shrimp, chunk of fish, or live baitfish along the chum-line. These fish hit hard, are scrappy fighters and taste great!
