Saltwater action casting lures on Florida flats.
Posted on March 16th, 2013[nggallery id=851]Today I was joined by Gerald Fisher and our good friend Donald to fish some 4-5′ deep flats casting lures for a variety of fish. We headed out around 10am and planned to fish some flats as the tide flooded between 12noon-5pm. As soon as we reached the flats, we could see fish feeding on the surface.
The catching-action started on my third cast on a Blue Fox spoon. I fished the Rapala Concept Ti , Magnum Baja & Shift spinning outfits loaded with Sufix 832, 10 lb. test braid and cast/trolled the Rapala X-Rap CD , and Blue Fox spoons.
We ended up catching 30-40 Spanish mackere. bluefish, pompano, & flounder. Tomorrow I am planning on fishing with our good frined Mike Scarlett and we will be targetting redfish!
