Ryan Edenborough recaps some of the great fishing in 2011 from Red Pine Wilderness Lodge, ON ( Canada )Posted on October 3rd, 2011
What another fantastic season at Red Pine Wilderness Lodge folks, let me tell you ! We landed an outrageous number of trophy Walleye, at times guiding my clients to water frothing action of 10 + lb walleye double headers! Cant beat that! But have no fear folks, those hankering for a tasty shore lunch had plenty of smaller walleye to fillet! Let’s also not forget the absolutely fantastic spring Northern Pike and Speckled Trout fishing with Northerns up to 42 ” and Speckies approaching 6 lbs plus! Beautiful gems they were!
As the days started to get shorter and the temperature cooled in September, the Smallmouth fishing caught on fire! It was nothing to land over 60 Smallmouth Bass in a mere few hours with a live bait rig. However, my favourite approach was launching surface lures for heart pumping action on the big girls during the stillness of dawn and dusk. Now that I’m back in Southern Ontario for the winter I’ll be busy tackling sone of out wonderfull fishing around the Great Lakes region but sure can’t wait to get back up north already! We had a very successful year up at Red Pine Wilderness Lodge and I predict next season to be just as exciting and action packed !!!
