Red Pine Wilderness Lodge walleye fishing has been nothing short of great!!

Posted on July 11th, 2010

[nggallery id=268]We just arrived at Red Pine Wilderness Lodge on Lady Evelyn Lake and the weather has been awesome and the fishing great.  We filmed yesterday from 10am to 3pm and caught enough trophy walleye to produce two exciting TV shows.  My wife Barbara ended up catching the two largest fish of the day, a 24″ and a 26″ walleye.  My largest was 23 1/2″.  We fished 1/8 oz. jigheads with a half a worm and the Lucky Strike small spinners in 20-30′ of water.  Ryan Edinborough, out guide for the second year in a row, and a recent guest on a trophy Channel Catfish TV show we shot in the spring, guided us right to the fish.  We also used Rapala F2 (Finesse 2-piece), & Avantis ultralight rods rigged with Rapala ultralight reels and 10 lb. test Suffix & Rapala Titanium Braid line to catch our fish.  We also used a 14-20″, 12 lb. test fluorocarbon leader just to give our line some stretch.

Today we are off to one of the Red Pine Wilderness Lodge back-lakes where we will be shooting a trophy smallmouth bass TV show using the Ocean Kayak.  Make sure to look at the new update tomorrow.  If you like the idea of experiencing an Ontario wilderness fishing trip that you can drive to, than Red Pine Wilderness Lodge is the place to go.  They have excellent fishing for many species, wonderful staff and world-class cuisine.
