Red Deer River Trout.

Posted on May 6th, 2018

Anglers across Canada are taking advantage of spring conditions an trout fishing. Most of the time I cover anglers in southern Ontario that are targeting Steelhead or resident Brown and Brook Trout. Well, Darryl Morris recently fished the Red Deer River, Saskatchewan with his buddy for trout and they caught Brown Trout and Bull Trout. The featured image is Darryl with his Bull Trout.

Bull trout are part of the char family similar to Lake Trout and Brook Trout. Some anglers refer to them as “Dolly Varden”, but in 1980 it was reclassified as a separate species.
