Raymarine spotting fish on shallow structure.

Posted on July 16th, 2016

When I’m fishing turbid waters, or it’s overcast out, it can be really tough to tell where the bottom comes-up, even if you wear polarized sunglasses. Structure breaks are important to me when I’m trying to catch many different fish species ranging from panfish, bass, walleye, pike and even trout in cold lakes.

Using the Raymarine Dragonfly7-Pro with CHIRP DownVision I have underwater eyes that gives me total detail like in the screen-grab above whee I can see the bottom-coming up, & the larger gamefish on the bottom right below the scattered baitfish school. Then it’s up to me to strategically position the boat and fish a variety of lures and presentations until I can get one or more fish to strike.
