Raymarine Shallow-water Walleye structure.
Posted on May 30th, 2017Throughout the open water season Walleye can make daily migration from their off-shore holding areas to very shallow night-time feeding areas. These areas may be as shallow as 2-6′.
I use my Raymarine Dragonfly Pro7 to locate these “hard-bottom” areas that are usually off points and surrounded by heavy weed-growth. Sometimes the shallow rocky structure does not come straight off the point, but off to one side. This is where it’s critical to have a sonar that can accurately show you the bottom contours where you can hook-up some of the largest walleye of the day!
