Raymarine Salmon & Baitfish.

Posted on August 17th, 2021

Aug. Chinook salmon in the Great Lakes reach their peak weight feeding heavily on plentiful baitfish schools.

Our good friend Bill Selby captured some excellent images of individual big-Salmon feeding from one baitfish school to another.

While it’s nice to see big Great Lakes salmon feeding, often it’s tough to get them to strike. This is when it’s important to be out and have lines in the water in the same area just as the sun is rising. Anglers will have more of a chance to get these bigger Chinooks to hit under low light and before they start feeding heavily on baitfish schools.
