I encounter many situation where fish are relatively in-active, they are not swimming around feeding and I have to look for them, often laying close to the bottom. This happens with a variety of freshwater fish, especially in the middle of the day where the water surface is smooth and lot’s of light is getting into the water.
Raymarine Dragonfly fishfinders are ideal for “hunting” and finding fish that are not on the move and feeding. If you can locate these fish and you are willing to spend some time fishing them, in many cases you can get them to hit. In the screen-grab above you can see a fish literally holding in a “rut” on the bottom.
This fish was an ideal candidate to “drop-shot” and worm a Lunker City soft plastic right in front of it.
