Raymarine Great Lakes Chinooks.

Posted on July 13th, 2021

Our good friend Bill Selby just invested in a new Raymarine Axiom 9″ fishfinder and he is putting it to good use on eastern Lake Ontario.

Chinook Salmon
Some of the largest Chinook Salmon caught from Lake Ontario in the 30-40lb range each year come out of the eastern end of the lake.

Bill catches some really nice Chinooks as they migrate around the north-shore of Lake Ontario and swing by the Newcastle-Oshawa region.

Raymarine Axiom with the duel RealVision3D and fishfinder screen, ideal for spotting, marking and fishing over Great Lakes salmon.

Not only is the Raymarine Element accurate at all depths but it has the RealVision3D which is ideal to spot baitfish and salmon that are up to 350′ around the boat. Once fish are spotted the user can easily scroll back to where the marks were and mark the exact waypoint. Then it’s just a matter of heading back to the spot and working it until you hook a trophy fish!

Make sure to check the fishing videos on our Italo Labignan YouTube channel and if you have any questions just email them to me at Ask Italo throughout our website.
