Raymarine fall pike & shallow-water structure.

Posted on October 3rd, 2019

I have the honor of fishing out of all kind of vessels both in fresh & saltwater but I have to tell you that one of the things I look forward to the most is fishing small lakes with my two pups Mulligan & River from a kayak. This season I have had the privilege of testing a couple of new kayaks from Pelican. One of those is the Power 100 which is designed to by equipped with an electric trolling motor and full size deep-cycle battery.

When I kayak fish I like to rig a Raymarine fishfinder  with Scotty kayak accessories to know where there are subtle bottom changes and deeper weeds. I find this very beneficial especially in late summer and fall when fish like bass and pike start to migrate out of the shallow to the nearby open-water structure.  When you locate them they will be feeding since they try and put on weight before our waters ice-over.
