Raymarine deep-water Bass.

Posted on June 9th, 2020

I’m blessed to fish NY waters for Bass when they are still in pre-spawn and hang-out in deeper water as deep as 30′. In many cases they don’t relate to major structure, but they do relate to baitfish that are tight along the bottom.

This is the time that I use my Raymarine fishfinder to scan deep-water flats look for individual fish. I focus on fishing soft-plastic grubs right along the bottom and keep my eye on the fishfinder to spot a following fish. In the above image you can see my jig working along the bottom and the bass that appears on the screen that eventually struck.

Nice to have electronics that I can trust to show me exactly what is happening below me so I can catch more fish!
