Raymarine, bass on structure breaks.

Posted on June 16th, 2018

I love to fish for pre-spawn smallmouth bass in the Spring in NY waters. The main challenge is that when water temperatures are below 50F, they stay in deeper water and hold close to the bottom. Every once and a while throughout the day they will move up to “subtle” structure breaks. Being able to spot them and drop a soft-plastic jig and their vicinity can make all the difference in consistent hook-ups.

That’s where the Raymarine Dragonfly 7Pro shines!! You can see in the above screen grab how clearly I can see the bass right on the bottom. It may look like a small mark, but turned out to be a nice fish!

In this scenario I took a quick screen grab, dropped my jig down and “bang”, fish-on.  I have so much confidence in my Raymarine fishfinder that no matter what species off fish I am targeting, it clearly shows me where they are so I can catch them.
