I have had excellent luck catching Largemouth Bass in shallow water weeds this summer and even going into the fall. I did well mostly fishing plastic frogs and weedless spoons.
A weedless spoon that is often overlooked is the Rapala Weedless Spoon. It’s unique long and narrow shape and weighted “back-end” makes it ride nicely over thick weeds, but when it’s allowed to swim just below the surface it has a great wobble from side to side, especially if you tip it with a straight or twister-tail plastic grub. It’s large single hook and flexible weed-guard keeps it weedless, but when a bass inhales it, it usually gets hooked!
