Rapala Shadow Rap Shad for summer bass.

Posted on August 9th, 2016

I’ve had the chance to fish the Rapala Shadow Rap series both in the spring on the NY side of Lake Erie, and now in Ontario. Conditions are totally different. Early in the year there was little weed-growth and the sinking Shadow Rap worked well. Now there is lot’s of weed-growth and the Shadow Rap Shad shallow running has been working great.

I have been targeting open-water rock-structure with some weed-growth in the middle of the day for the smallies.

Shallow water rock-humps with just a few weed clumps have been the “hot-spot” for largemouth. The image above shows you how well bass like to attache the Shadow Rap Shad. If you love to bass fish, you should definitely give the Shadow Rap series a try!
