If you have not tried the Rapala Scatter Rap Crank Deep for bass you may be missing out. I had a chance to fish it in Michigan for some early season smallmouth and it produced big-time in the middle of the day.
While natural color crankbaits work well when bass are feeding early and late in the day, my strategy if to use very bright, unnatural color crankbaits throughout the middle of the day to make bass that are not feeding, strike. This has worked for me for walleye as well and all throughout Canada. It’s ideal to use when you want to fish water ranging from 7-12′ deep.
