When fishing a spinner for trout do you cast upstream or downstream Opinions seem to wary

Hi Damian…Though trout can hit a lure/spinner coming from any direction, in current, they prefer to have something swim across in front of them, as opposed to coming ove their back from behind (very unnatural). Trout prefer a presentation where the bait lure travels down a “feeding-lane” to them in moving water. For this reason the best presentation to make with a spinner is having it swim down-stream and across in front of laying fish….God bless you, Italo
