Posted on April 9th, 2013Hi Robyn….Nice to hear from you. Hope the mount I did back in the early 80’s is still OK. Yes, the Detroit River is one of the best “early season” walleye fisheries in Canada! Best fishing there is in April &May. The April fishery is mostly jigging 1/2 oz. jigs/4″ plastic grub along the bottom along the structure breaks in 15-25′ of water. In May, jigging works well, as well as bottom-bouncing a worm harness/worm along the bottom. My favourite stretch to fish is from Fighting Island, La Salle, ON to Bablo Island, ON…..God bless you, Italo
