What kind of fish is biting right now in the Niagara Wirlpool and what is the way and time to catch them.
Posted on July 16th, 2012Hi Tyler…The smallmouth bass fishing is really good right now in the Whirlpool. Best time to fish there is right at daybreak, before they raise the water, and after 8am when the water reaches it’s normal level. Best lure to use is a 4″ tube rigged with a 1/4 oz. jighead. Take a few with you since it’s easy to get stuck on the bottom. Best presentation is to cast slightly up-stream (into the current), let the tube drift with the current and as soon as it touches the bottom, make sure your line is tight (not loose), and drag the tube along the bottom until a bass grabs it….God bless you, Italo
