What is your opinion on copolymer fines as compaired to mono or flurocarbon lines?Do you have any early season spots ;you would recommend for crappies and perch.God bless all your efforts in making fishing such a gift>

Hi George, I use either a high quality monofilament line or braided line as my main line. I only use fluorocarbon leader material. All of the small streams and rivers that flow into Lake Simcoe, ON are good early season Crappie spots. These include:

-Holland River

-Mashkinonge River

-Black River

-Peferlaw River

The crappie will move into the lower sections of these rivers and congregate around boat docks, bridge abutments and old pier piles. Best presentation is to fish a small sensitive slip-bobber on 4lb test line and a small 1/16 or 1/8 oz jighead with a 1-2″ plastic grub or tipped with a couple of maggots or mousies. The Crappie will normally be in 2-5’water.
