We are going to Elk Island Wilderness Resort 2nd week of September. We will not try the walk in lakes. What techniques and types of locations do you suggest in the river and lake for walleye, perch and smallmouth? Thank youPosted on August 17th, 2019
Hi Keith, pretty simple presentation. For walleye you will do best fishing an 1/4 or 1/8 oz. jighead with half or whole nightcrawler either anchored or drifting over 10-25′ breaklines right on the bottom. It will help if you have a sonar with a hydrographic chart so you can drift the structure breaks. I fish a lot of Lunker City Fin-S Fish and did well jigging them right on the bottom for walleye and also some really big rock bass. For smallies and pike we did well casting crankbaits along the steeper dropping shorelines and off the weeds in the narrows. Hope you have a great trip…God bless you.
