Was out pier fishing for salmon, with calm waters and a full moon. Does a full moon affect the salmon and also does barometric influence the bite as well? Thanks, much appreciated.Posted on October 5th, 2017
HI Ed, both factors do and many more. During a full moon phase salmon have more light penetration and night-time fishing for them should be better than average. On a full moon phase fishing during daylight hours may be tougher. Also, the condition of the salmon is very important. The darker they get, the more they concentrate on spawning and less on taking lures or bait though they can be caught using lures to make them strike.
