Thanks for spending time with my wife and I at Natural Sports a few weeks ago. She has really gotten the fishing bug and I want it to continue. Just came bacj from a week on Georgian bay near the Key river. We have aweek booked off second week of august. I was thinking of temagami . i have ice fished there many times but never from a boat. We have a boat with rod holders, planer boards and downriggers and bow trolling motor. is there anywhere in ontario you would suggest? No more than 6 hour drive would be nice.
Posted on July 12th, 2015Nice to have met you too. If you would like to do day trips (or an extended trip), right now the walleye fishing is getting really good at the eastern-end of Lake Erie out from Crystal Beach, ON. Your set-up of using downriggers and planer boards with diving devices like Luhr Jensen Jet Divers & Dipsey Divers would work well with worm-harnesses. You won’t have a problem knowing where the fish are being caught since there will be several boats working the productive area. Right now most of the action is in 50-70′ water which is about 3-6 miles off-shore. Winds are a factor and the best conditions are if the winds are under 10 knots.
