Just looking for advice on good walleye setups…Spinning or casting or both?rod length?action?tip?

Hi John, for all-round “inland” lakes walleye fishing  a 7′ medium-action spinning rod matched with a medium-size spinning reel and loaded with 10 lb test braided line will work well for fishing livebait and also trolling, casting and drifting with artificials.

For Great Lakes walleye that can suspended over deep water you would need more specialized rods that can be fished with diving devices like Dipsey Divers, Jet Divers and planer boards. Many of these are trolling rods (loaded with baitcasting reels that have a line counter). Monofilament or braid can be used. I prefer braid in the 30lb class..God bless you.
