Italo,Looking for some good bait suggestions and areas for opening day walleye and Crappie. I am right beside Happy Days Houseboat Rentals.Posted on March 29th, 2018
Hi John, May may be a little late to experience fast-action in the shallows for crappie. Most anglers do well fishing for them in April as soon as shoreline waters warm up. The go-to set-up for crappie is a small slip-bobber rig/1/8 oz. jighead and a 1-2″ soft-plastic grub. The www.lunkercity.com Helgie and the Fin-S Fish are two very productive baits.
For walleye in southern Ontario it’s tough to beat fishing a 1/4 or 3/8 oz black bucktail jig fished along new weed growth or twitching the Rapala Husky Jerk #12 right above the weeds and also along the shorellines and shoals at dusk.
