ItaloI would like to go fishing for walleye on the Bay of Quinte during the last half of October. Where should I launch my boat and what area should I be fishing in during this time of year? I am unfamiliar with the waters in this area.

Hi Norman, best to launch at Glenora Ferry, ON and fish Adolphus Reach. Most anglers troll there from now until ice-up using in-line planer boards, 100-300′ flat-line leads with deep-diving body baits that swim down to 30′ like the Rapala Tail Dancer 11.

Most of the walleye are suspended in water depths from 40-110′, swimming 15-30′ below the surface. Good trolling speeds are 1.5-2.5 mph. Sometimes they are closer to the shorelines, sometimes right in the middle. You will see boats trolling, just watch for results.
