Italo – I have an annual trip with the guys in late September on Pigeon lake – do you have any suggestions for locating walleye that time of year and best technique/lure? Thanks

Good areas to find walleye in Sept. on Pigeon  Lake is the weedlines on the west-side of the lake from Happy Days House Boat Rentals (almost across form Gannon Narrows), north to Three Sisters Shoal.  The weeds will end in 10-12′ of water. They are irregular, so you have to move in and out to get an idea of how they are growing as you move up and down the shoreline. Best presentation to use is to either jig with a 1/4 or 3/8 oz. black bucktail jig, or a jig/plastic grub along the bottom. Drifting and fishing a Vibrax #2 spinner/worm close is also productive. Try and cover as much weedline as you can and you should be able to catch some nice walleye!
