Italo are yellow pickerel and walley the same species
Posted on March 27th, 2015Hi There…In Canada we have many “slang” names for the walleye. The “yellow pickerel” is one of the “slang” names for the walleye. Technically a walleye is part of the perch family and the pickerel is part of the pike family. There are several species of pickerel, which look like a small pike; American Pickerel, Redfin Pickerel, Grass Pickerel, & Chain Pickerel…….God bless you, Italo
