Is 0.28mm fishing line too thick for brown trout? I would use something thinner but there are carp around too. I am too lazy for putting on a leader line by the way :) thank you!
Posted on August 11th, 2016Hi Dako, sounds like 8lb test line. It should be fine as a main line if the brown trout are larger (over 5 lb.).
If they are smaller (14″ to couple of pounds), I would suggest you use a lighter, .20 or .25 mm diameter Sufix Fluorocarbon leader for at least 20″ at the lure or bait. I know you said you are too lazy to add a leader, but it may be well worth it.
