I watched your show fishing for grunts with your spouse in Florida. Can you share specifics about the location. My wife and I are 65 and love to fish. Fishing for grunts looks like fishing for perch on Lake Erie which is our home water shed. I’m thinking of vacationing someplace in the keys ( Largo, Marathon…) in Feb and Mar. Appreciate any tips regarding locations for a base. Thanks

Hi Mark, Grunts can be caught anywhere from 30-50’+ off-shore in the Gulf of Mexico. They like a broken bottom. Live shrimp or chunks of fresh shrimp are the best baits. Barb & I were fishing 4-miles out from Englewood, Fl but you can find Grunts throughout the Gulf in the depths above as long as you find a small reef. We use a Raymarine Axiom fishfinder and locate the reefs by spotting the baitfish that hold above it. The spots on the sounder looks like a lighted up area off the bottom…God bless you.
