I have a 14.5 smokercraft 30 horse wondering if it was safe to fish the bayand if so where is the best spot to fish. i have a downrigger. Also live in stratford ontario also what kind of hotel do you recommend thanks
Posted on March 27th, 2015Hi Josh….Your rig is fine to fish the Upper and Lower Bay of Quinte. Right now you can have excellent fishing in both areas. You don’t need downriggers since most of the fishing is taking place in water that is less than 20′ deep. Most anglers are either casting crankbaits, flat-line trolling, or drifting/still fishing with lures/bait. Best area to fish in the Upper Bay right now is Big Bay. Best areas to fish in the Lower Bay is around Sherman’s & Thompson’s Points. I normally stay at the Comfort Inn, Belleville. It’s close to restaurants, fuel, grocery stores and a easy access to the boat launches in Belleville, ON and only 30 min. from Picton, ON….God bless you, Italo
