I had no success for pike for the last 3 years on Lady Evelyn Lake at the opening in May.Any suggestions? Thanks Yvan
Posted on December 17th, 2016Hi Yvan, when I fish Lady Evelyn I usually target walleye during the summer months or smallmouth bass with surface lures in the fall. If I was targeting pike there in the spring I would concentrate on finding them in shallow, weedy areas especially near the mouths of creeks where pike would have spawned earlier.
There should still be good numbers of pike in the 5-8′ depths where there would be new weed growth. As you know Lady Evelyn does not have a lot of weed bed areas, so if you locate those especially early in the year, you will find pike.
