I am using 50lb braid and I want to stop using metal leaders. the areas I fish have bass. pike and walleye. I do not want to change fluorocarbon because I do not know if a pike will hit my line. what is the best size of fluorocarbon to use so that I can catch all species of fish.Thank youPosted on September 4th, 2016
Hi Barry, if there is a chance of you hooking some big pike (over 40″), I would encourage you to use a 50 lb. flurocarbon leader.
If the pike are smaller (under 36″), you can probably get away with using a 20-30 lb. fluorocarbon leader.
