I am concerning to go to Oak Orchard Creek or Catarragus Creek to fish for steelhead/ brown trout. Do you know when I could go to fish there?
Posted on November 18th, 2007Hi Gianni…The fish are in right now (mostly Chinook salmon in the Oak Orchard), but water levels are still low and a little too warm for the main run of trout to migrate up. I would encourage you to check this weeks, Weekly Update and scroll down to the Upper NY report. Both the Oak Orchard and the Catarragus rivers are excellent for migratory trout starting in Nov. and extending right into the spring of the following year. Fishing varies week to week depending on how cold it gets, and how much water there are in the tributaries…God bless you, Italo
