Hi Joe…Thank you for your kind words. You can catch brook trout in southern Ontario, but their habitat is “marginal”. Some of the best brook trout fishing in southern Ontario is in and around Algonquin Provincial Park. Many anglers fish the park around the long weekend in May. If you have a canoe and you are willing to do a little canoeing (go back 2-3 lakes), and don\’t mind pitching a tent, you can have some great brook trout fishing with spinning & fly gear. The trout there will average 12-17″. If you would like more information on the Park, just contact them and they will be happy to give you the names and routes to the top brook trout lakes. Other than Algonquin, you can fish some of the head-waters of the tributary streams that flow into Lake Huron (Mailtland, Sauble, Saugeen, Beaver, Nottawasaga, etc.), and even the head-waters of the tributary streams that flow into Lake Ontario (Ganaraska, Cold Creek, etc.,), but you have a better chance of catching brown trout and small rainbow trout than you do of catching brook trout there….God bless you, Italo
