Hi,I am fishing East Lake for the first time as I heard it is good for children with lots of bass in the 1-3lb size but have not seen any information online about it. Do you have any information about the lake and is it good if we want to target numbers?

Hi Gary, the south-end of East Lake, ON has shallow water, cattail beds, lily pad beds and lots of weeds. It’s a good area to fish top-water lures like the Rapala X-Rap Pop and 1/4 oz. buzz baits in the open water around the weeds. You can also fish spinnerbaits, Texas-rigged plastic worms and Johnson Silver Minnow (weedless spoon) through the thicker weeds. If you want to fish some undercut cattail banks, the north-west side of the lake across from Cherry Valley, ON has quite a long stretch you can fish…God bless you.
