Hi there, going ice fishing for some brookies was wondering what the best techinques are.

Hi Pierre…Most people fish minnows on a set line near the bottom in water ranging from 10-20\’ brook trout. I personally like to jig when I\’m ice fishing. I would encourage you to jig with a W2 or W3 JIgging Rapala, or small Lucky Strike Spoon. They key to catching brook trout through the ice is to locate them. They are usually around shorelines, near Beaver dens, near inlet/outlet streams that enter/exit the lake, and in bays where they are searching for food…God bless you, Italo
