hi my name is and i was just wondering are there channel cat fish in the humber river and port credit river near the mouths of both river and is the beginning of march to early to catch them
Posted on March 13th, 2013Hi Quincy….Channel catfish can migrate into any of the Lake Ontario tributaries starting in mid-march and going right into June. Some tributaries get more of a concentration of channel catfish (like the Grand River, Dunnville, ON – due to it’s large size/flow and turbid, shallow water). The only way to find out is to try fishing there. Best time is after dark and fishing a chunk of baitfish like a piece of white sucker meat on the bottom with a sliding-sinker rig….God bless you, Italo
