Hi Italo,Recently purchased a fishing boat. I would like to know where to find Lake Ontario fishing information. In particular where to fish out of St Catharines for trout and salmon at different times of year. Let’s start with fall fishing….what are winning strategies on the lake?thanksPosted on September 26th, 2020
Hi Jerome, congratulations of your new boat! Social Media is a good place to find out about fishing anywhere or through local fishing clubs like the St. Catharine’s Fish & Game. Right now some Brown trout & Chinook Salm are in the fast water at Port Dalhousie. Some Chinooks are still staging near the mouth in water less then 50′. The “stagers” are best fished for and hooked at dark and after dark casting glow-in-the-dark spoons. During the day they will scatter and are more difficult to intercept.
You can also catch a mix of Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout and some salmon fishing both east and west of Port Dalhousie in water ranging from 80-300′.
