Hi Italo:My wife and I do a lot of fishing from the pier down at Port Dover Ontario on the north shore of Lake Erie. Many time the water can get quite murky primarily because of wind and wave action. We have marked several fish at various depths in 12 feet of water in the outer harbor. We have tried floats, Walleye rigs, and Pickerel rigs with little success What would you consider a good presentation to improve our chances?Posted on October 12th, 2017
Hi Calvin, it’s not your presentation, rigs or bait, it’s the poor water conditions that has made for very tough fishing. I have an important tip for you, don’t go out if you know the water is not clear. I don’t mean to be funny, but the reason you are not catching fish is because of the water turbidity. When the water is too murky fish like bass and perch move out, or have lock-jaw until conditions improve. Best to pick the best days with good surface conditions and water clarity.
