Hi Italo,I was wondering where to fish for bass and pike on Lake Couchiching? Also what lures should I use to fish? Thanks
Posted on August 18th, 2015As on most of our southern Ontario lakes there is limited shoreline fishing on Lake Couchiching. You can fish right in Orillia by the boat launces and in the main waterfront park, but it get’s quite a bit of pressure and you can also go to the north end of the lake where the canal comes in at Washago, ON off of Bond Rd. Couchiching has fairly shallow shorelines, but right in Orillia and also at the top end there is some depth.
You can use either worms or minnows on the bottom or under a float for bass & panfish , or wade and cast a 1/4 oz. spinnerbait, twitch a Rapala Husky Jerk #11, or fish a top-water lure like the Rapala X-Rap Pop around the scattered weeds open water areas.
