Hi Italo,I was wondering when the best time to go steelhead fishing in terms of a weather. I am going steelhead fishing this weekend on the credit? You have told me in pass answers its best to go right after a rain or when rains effects on the river is clearing up like water level and clarity(murky with a 3 – 5 foot water level? What do you think about going this weekend for steelhead on the credit in erindale and would you go north or south of erindale or all around like south then back up to North? Thanks for all the help!

Hi Matthew…Not the best time to fish any of the southern Ontario tributaries. With the recent rains, and today’s heavy rain forcast (and strong winds), most tributaries will be “blown-out” for a few days. If you really want to try steelheading, you may want to cast lures off one of the piers in the clear water around the tributary “mud-lines”. Good lures to cast are 1/4-3/8 oz. casting spoons, Luhr Jensen Kwikfish #5 & #7, and Vibrax #3 spinner.
