Hi Italo,I recently purchased an Rapala R-Type spinning reel and I am looking to buy a complimentary rod. I fish mostly for bass on the Trent River, but would like something good for different species and perhaps a little heavier just in case I hook 'the big one'! I would also like something that allows me to cast as far as possible.Also was wondering what line you would recommend for the R-Type Spinning reel?Any advice you have would be great!Jeremy

Hi Jeremy, nice to hear from you. You have an awesome fishery in your backyard! The Rapala R-Type reel was an excellent choice. I would recommend you consider getting a Rapala 7′ medium-action spinning rod, http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/rapala-mag-7-sp-rod/6000051735021?rrid=ClickCP|item_page.rr1|0|0 . The price is right and it will meet all your needs.

For your type of fishing I would suggest you spool it up with Sufix 832, 30 lb. test braid and use either a 10-20 lb. fluorocarbon leader at the end of at least 16-24″ long for medium size bass, walleye, and at least a 20-30 lb. fluorocarbon leader if you are targeting larger walleye & pike….God bless you and your family.
